A mod for all of you with big feet and ugly carpet

My clutch master leaked all over the driver's footwell and soaked into the already nasty carpet there... so I cut out the entire floor section and now just have the matt on the bare floor.

Finally, my big *** size 12 feet finally make proper contact with the pedal pads and not the stems/arms! Something for all the other tall guys out there to consider. If you have nice carpet, you could always just cut off the foam backing for an extra inch or two.

I have size 13 feet and never had that much trouble with the pedals.
Hell, I run Razo pedal covers with no problems...

My feet are 13 also, it seems to be all about finding shoes that are thin. I noticed that if they are too wide they catch on the other petals.

Hahha I completly agree about the shooes. I got these wide dress shooes and boy it was a challange not to hit the gas and the brake at the same time.

yeah but if you just remove the foam backing theres nothing "boosting" the carpet up that extra inch or so the weight of your feet is going to pull the carpet apart at the sides trim pieces and look like crap.

Wearing size 13 work boots isn't all that easy either. I ended up having to pull them off while I was waiting at a light.

That is always fun! I used to have to take my muddy boots off and put them in a plastic grocery bag for the trip home after work. Couldnt have done it even if they werent muddy cause they are so damn clumsy. Plus in anything like that you have little to no sense of where your feet are so you have to sort of look down to see lol

To be specific, the problem I always had was this:

My foot made contact with the pedal just below the ball toward the arch. When depressing a pedal, my toes would hit the arm. It was really uncomfortable

Maybe you just don't know what you're missing. I've always thought that the pedals in cars are designed for the average foot height, which is pretty low when they take women into consideration. I was surprised by how much better they feel.

Ah, that explains it...
You're not supposed to be resting your heel on the floor...

I ussualy use my toes on the pedals. Maybe thats why I dont have a problem. If I rest my heels on the floor and let my foot rest fluch on the pedal then it probably would be a problem but I cant drive like that

what's wrong with the heel on the floor for daily driving. I dunno about you but my foot/leg would get tired if I didn't put my heel on the floor.

imagine if you're nervous or you just made an evasive maneuver!! your clutch leg would be shaking non-stop.

I wear a size 11... its called adaptation my foot sits at an angle putting the pedal right on the ball of my foot. Also when I down shift I can either do the traditional heel-toe or put my foot on both pedals and seesaw my foot to press 1 of the 2 pedals more...

you know, thats funny. i have size 14's, i can heal-toe, brake stand, sit in traffic with no problems. i rest my heal on the floor when daily driving, but switch it up during spirited driving, racing, or auto-x. but then again, i have an aftermarket steering wheel with a 80mm spacer.
so, i have hella long legs, but my steering wheel setup helps a TON!

peace

im 6'2 250lbs prolly more..and i got size 12 shoes..i always have plenty of room in my fc even in my old fb's..surprisingly in my pop's 91 300zxtt i can barely fit in that..i can but it doesnt feel good..plus the guy he bought it from put a amp behind the seat, so that stops me too from putting seat all the way back..

5'10" with 14 4E shoes and stock pedals are fine. Only bitch is the dead pedal. Its a bit too far in the corner.
