Question MMO Premix Ratios

So I'm just now jumping on the MMO bandwagon...

How much of this stuff should I be adding to my oil? Gas?

I'm looking from some opinions from the "old pros." Remember...this is the first run of MMO in my baby. Should I be putting more than usual?

Joshua

PS: Oh yeah...I have an '88 vert NA 13b, stock.

Thanks!

A quick search will tell you but I'll be nice... Add 1oz of MMO per gallon of gas. I'm assuming your OMP has called it quits?

Is the OMP still connected and functioning? I've seen posters on these boards that vote strongly against using MMO as a premix. You probably need to search this forum, read up on all the ink that has been spilled on MMO and make an informed decision. My $0.02 for what that's worth

Don't use MMO as "pre-mix" MMO is not a TCW-3 oil so its not certified to be for that specific purpose. If your just using at as a suppliment then whatever the indications tell you.

I strongly recommend reading this thread. I'm rocking MMO as pre-mix myself (was using generic Valvoline 2-stroke) and haven't noticed any downsides.

there are no scientific facts to back up the claims that MMO is ok to use as pre-mix. TCW-3 is the only stuff you should even consider using.

what sort of downsides would you be looking for? i could run no premix (with non-functioning omp) and wouldnt notice any downsides. my seals may wear a bit faster, but i wouldn't know this until the engine gave out early. so if you were to run no MMO and no premix with no OMP, what downsides would you be looking for?

Poor gas milage, running rough, etc. Or so I would assume.

Simply put the thread on MMO as premix was in the 1st gen section for a carbed car. In my research of this i found out that MMO running through fuel injectors can shorten their lifespan severly--from what i've read here on the forums.
MMO isn't gods gift to rotary's or anything. just be normal like everybody else and use what works. TCW-3 Premix.

i ran my car with barely any 2-stroke in the tank. i did this for emissions (not know what 2-stroke would do to emissions, i figured the less, the better. i had some 4 or so gallons in the tank (my gauge doesnt always seem accurate) and filled up completely and added no extra 2-stroke. i took the car to inspection and it was run on the dyno. i kept driving and drove for probably about another 200 miles. so that ~4 ounces was dilluted and the car was run around 200 miles. i noticed to bad side effects.
if you want to try, run your car until near empty and then fill up completely, heavily diluting what was left of any mmo (or 2stroke, whatever you have). now run the car with gas only for some miles and see if you can find any difference.
my arguement isn't over mmo or 2stroke, but that i don't think you would notice a difference from running 2stroke/mmo over no "premix" at all. and if i'm right (which from my experience i would say so), saying that mmo is just as reliable (or more, depending on your standpoint) is completely negated. this, of course, doesnt disprove it either, but is merely a trial to see if no premix is "as good" (feeling) as mmo is compared to 2stroke.

Meh, didn't meant to start a flame war or anything. Just stated that I used MMO as a pre-mix.

oh, no, i wasnt trying to get onto you, just making a point. at the same time, i was trying to show i'm not biased towards 2stroke or mmo as i haven't looked into either. i run 2stroke as, i believe, its been proven in higher mileage engines. a true test between the two i dont see happening. in order to make me happy, this would entitle two exact same engines (preferably more) in all aspects making the same power, running the same amount of fuel, tested under the exact same conditions for X amount of miles and having all wear parts (affected by "premix") measured as they (big companies) would measure wear parts testing regular "oil pan" oils.
i of course wish people the best running their MMO. i wouldnt wish anyone a short rotary lifespan (unless i disliked them personally ).
