MMO and 2 Stroke Oil Ok to sit in engine for weeks?
My car has been out of commission for about 8 months now. And I'm worried that the engine may have seized while I've done other work on it. I was going to add some MMO and 2 stroke oil to turn the engine by hand just to lubricate and clear up any carbon that may have settled. I dont plan on starting the car for 2 weeks or maybe slightly more. Is it ok to let the MMO and 2 stroke oil sit that long? I'm just worried that MMO contact for that period of time may degrade the seals.

if you're worried about MMO, use something else, like motor oil, or WD40, or something.
before you start it, pull the plugs out and just crank it, it might cut down on the smokescreen when you actually start it

i use MMO as one of the engine internal lubricants for building engines and i have had it sit in one motor for over 9 months while waiting for payment and it never had any issues. but that was on an engine with brand new coolant seals. i personally would say use 2 stroke oil and forget it, or use MMO just prior to attempting to start it.
when we got the container of engines in from japan we would compression test them and then put MMO in them while they sit, some sat for months even after they were purchased, no one ever had a problem. I think I sold like 30-40 of those engines
