MKIV Supra SMIC on S4
a friend of mine has a Brand new MKIV that he doesn't need and is willing to sell for real cheap (100 bux)
it's deffinately an upgrade to my stock S4 TMIC...
i was just wondering HOW much of an upgrade and if it was worthwhile... in ur guys opinions...
piping would be custom, i know a exhaust place that'll do me the pipes for 100-120 bux
so before ppl tell me to pay a "little" more and get FMIC the total for this prioject would be around $220 give or take a little..
Its summer and I live in a desert... (we're talking 40*C during the day) already the temps climb... so If i go FMIC... i'll need to spend extra cash on a Decent Rad as well...
i know in the DSM world the use the Supra SMIC with the Big Evo 16G which pushes a pretty decent amount of air..(more then the Stock Hitachi if I'm not mistaken)
i'm lookin for some piping/ routing ideas...
if I put i on the passenger side i can toss the windshielf fluid tank and then put the intercooler in this area.... but I dunno how to run my pipes...
Either I have to put them both into one corner like some of the ol' skool FMIC's... or Run the pipes one on each side as if it were an FMIC.. only one pipe is a couple feet longer to meet the end tank in the wheel well...like the hot side goes up from the turbo down into the hole previously occupied by the bottle.. directly into the SMIC and then right acrossthe front of the bumper... and then up again to the TB... OR the opposite with the SMIC sitting in the passenger side.. and the Hot side of the piping being longer and the cold side being shorter.. (perhaps this will help cool more? letting the hot pipe shed some heat on it's way)
the car has No A/C and No Power steering, No condensor.. and I plan on chucking the battery in the rear bin, and converting to E-fan... (if that helps at all in planning the piping route...
also have Rtek 1.7 with supporting mods and crane's hi6.. and ported WG.. lookin to wring out the stocker for everything she's got... (13psi basically)
i know it's seems like alot of piping.. but from what I hear it's the bends that cause pressure drop more then the length.
Ideas or opinions plz?

That guy (girl?) is not your friend.
Tell him to **** off.
For $100, that's a ******' rip.
If he's your friend, he'd give it to you for free.
You can get a 24" x 12" x 3" bar-n-plate IC from eBay for $200!!!!!!
I mean come on...
On top of that, it's a royal pain in the *** to mount that IC, cause it's like 6" thick.
Dude, pass on that crap.
