Assumed timing was set right after stabbing CAS on a new rebuild. Boosting in 4th broke an apex seal. There was over 10* static advance when I checked with a zero map. Grrr...
It's all good now though

Buying the same car 2 times...............One original purchase (blown motor). Sell it to the kid after repairs. Get it back after 7 years for what he owes............. Rebuild it again....
I think I've got a few:
1) Buying crap off e-bay for $1 but shipping is $15!
2) Buying h4 housings off e-bay not DOT approved, I can't see 10' in front of me w/o highbeams.
3) Buying 3" full exhaust and realizing its too f'ing loud!
4) Buying FD rims and realizing I need spacers after trying to fit them on.
5) Pulling the whole dash and realizing the heater core was fine, it was just a loose hose clamp.
6) Dropping the rear subframe and tightening the diff mount, only for it to shear from the subframe the next day.
7) going 88 in a 55 in a construction zone
8) Trying to do a burnout in an all-wheel drive dsm (but this is the reason I got an RX7)
9) Selling my 1990 240sx in great running condition for $1000
10) Drinking too much
11) Putting parts on my car before fixing the broken stuff
12) there's more i'm sure....
damn only if I had a shop/garage I could correct most of these mistakes...

well this one took several stupid steps... so here they are...
1. pulling the car apart to turbo it
2. getting it turboed and realizing that it wasn't running right and i couldn't figure out the problem
3. pulling the turbo parts off and making it n/a again so i could have a running car
4. it still not running as an n/a
5. still not being able to drive my car to this day
^^^i still need help with this one actually, i refuse to give up and sell it
