Minor Windshield Washer Problem

My 1988 RX-7 Convertible has only 20,000 original miles, and is in dynamite shape. A couple of weeks ago the windshield washer stopped working. While poking around trying to find problem, but not finding any, it started working again.

The other day it did the same thing, except I cannot get it working. The wipers work fine at any setting. Any ideas? I am guessing a loose wire, but cannot find wires leading to pump motor, are they under the tank?

did you wash/wax your car? I found that even the spray wax that's in the do it your self car washes can plug the sprayer nozzles. get a needle and check, it might be the problem.

Pump is under the tank.&nbsp You need to remove the passenger tire and wheel well liner to access the reservior and pump.&nbsp I've had them fail on me, so I wouldn't be surprised if it just died.

Thanks people, first thing I tried was cleaning nozzles, to no avail. I guess I need to dig deeper and check pump. Because it started re-working before, I suspect loose or broken wire.
