might be sellin the rex...
how much do you think i can get for my rex?
the interior dash and door panels need to be redone.
it needs a new throwout bearing (but im takin care of that)
it has a brand new clutch 1000 miles ago.
new shifter bushings 200 miles ago
car has 104k but engine has 47k
can you think of a good price with the stereo with it, and without the stereo? thank you.

What model and year???
off the top of my head for what you are listing, with the clutch fixed, not more than $3000. If the wing is big and non stock looking that will also lower the price.
maybe less if there is a big box in the back for the stereo, then subtract $500 to $1000.
Since the car came stock with a stereo, anything aftermarket does not affect the price, other than to lower it, unless the system has won trophys, and even then the market that buys that kind of car is very small.

KBB is about $1500 high on retail pricing right now. You almost never see the cars selling for what KBB claims retail should be. On top of that KBB assumes stock paint, and car condition.
Mods generally lower the price, not raise it. If what you describe is accurate, the car should be rated fair or poor.
from KBB
Now I think KBB is a little low, for that rating, but if you get $3000 you will be lucky.
It would be tough to get what you want in my area, decent T2s and 88 'verts in good condition are getting that much.

1987 Mazda RX-7 GXL Coupe 2D
Engine: 1.3 Liter Rotary
Trans: 5 Speed Manual
Drive: Rear Wheel Drive
Mileage: 104,000
Equipment
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo
Cassette
Sliding Sun Roof
Alloy Wheels
Consumer Rated Condition: Fair $1555
"Fair" condition means that the vehicle probably has some mechanical or cosmetic defects, but is still in safe running condition. The paint, body and/or interior need work to be performed by a professional in order to be sold. The tires need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage. The value of cars in this category may vary widely. A clean title history is assumed. Even after significant reconditioning this vehicle may not qualify for the Blue Book Suggested Retail value.

Hey yelow RX-7,
Nice looking car. From experience, I would say take the stereo gear out and put the stock system back in if you have it. If you leave a high dollar system in the car you'll be giving it away. You would be better off keeping it for another car or selling the system separately. Good luck.

how would me saying i dont like your car have anything to do with you being able to sell it? what because i said "I" dont like it noone will buy it? sorry buddy you did the damage to resale value yourself by making your car look like that. like i said in the first post it is my opinion and everyone has their own ideas of what looks good. i dont see where you are coming from with that.

Granted everyone is entitled to their own opinion...however I don't think that was the opportune moment for you to state yours. He is trying to sell his car...its just not a polite thing to say. People get turned off by hearing negative comments.
