Midpipes

Working on putting a 3" exhaust together for my 89 TII. I have a 3" downpipe and am looking at the Racing Beat and the Corksport 3" midpipe. There is $100 difference between the two. I notice the Racing Beat has a larger canister. What difference will this make? Are there any other differences to be aware of?

The RB presilencer is about 3-4 inches longer, which means slightly more sound reduction. You also can't mix an RB downpipe with the corksport presilencer, since the lengths are different. I have an RB downpipe that has been modified to be 3-4 inches longer, so it will reach the stock cat location and my corksport presilencer. Other downpipes can be had that will reach the stock location too. The advantage, besides price, is that a cat can easily be bolted back in for smogging.

So the little extra length adds sound reduction. That is great, but does the extra size add to turbulence in the exhaust? Is there going to be any difference in power or spool up of the turbo between the two? I am guessing not enough to notice if there is, but just curious.
