Microtech or Haltech? Injector size

Thanks for looking and thank you in a advance for all opinions and replies. Well im gathering information about what engine management and injector size for primary and secondary to get. I would like to get 400 to 500hp to the wheels after tuning it. here are my mods. Ive got a completely rebuilt engine with a large streetport, all emissions removed, underdrive pulleys, no power steering, no A/C, racing beat full race exhaust, bnr stage 3 turbo, ported all intake manifolds, walbro fuel pump, boost and fuel pressure regulators. man i dont know if im forgetting anything engine related.

As for all the mods that i do have. I have the rx7.com brake kit, racing beat suspension, urethane suspension bushings, racing beat lighened flywheel, banzai racing intake pipe, oz-rally limited edition gunmetal wheels, short shift kit. I may be forgetting things here as well. Basically the car has been sitting and i have been gathering parts, now im finishing up my baby and just need engine management. so if you guys could help me, that would be great. thanks

Oh yea, the car started as a 1986 non-turbo, but i got bored and wanted to built an all out street beast.

-Jose

As far as a stand alone, choose the one that your tuner is familiar with. And for injectors, with a stand alone, the sky is the limit; most people running a full to4, run 550 primary injectors, and 1200 secondary injectors (might as well spend the money on some 1600 seconday injectors IMHO).

I'm going 780cc primaries 1600 secondaries with a Microtech LT10s on a rotary resurrection streetported 3mm s5 Tii with a A-spec GT35rs AKA R500.

Choose the standalone based on whatever your tuner is comfortable with. If you are doing the tuning, the Microtech is easier for beginners.

Injector sizes already mentioned...

If you're up for some arguing then there was a LONG Microtech vs. Haltech thread about a year ago. Should be easy to find via the search.

Well, why would i need a bigger turbo? if i could make 400 to the wheels with this turbo, ill be satisfied, for now. lol

So im guessing that 550cc primary and 1600cc should be plenty to get this thing rolling? I will be tuning my car. Also i would like to know which would be better with my mods and hp figures that i would like to make. Also, remember this car has to be streetable and be a BEAST!

The stage 3 won't get to 400. (unless you've possibly got some 9.7:1 rotors hiding out and an insanely large port).

We tune both Microtechs and Haltechs ,personally I feel the Haltech has more support online and is much easier to manipulate. They both have their pros and cons

its an option, oh by the way chris, its jose. you built my motor for me about a year ago and it has been sitting ever since, lol. it looks really good sitting, but its going to look much better in the car. haha. well fellas im going with bnr stage 4 and see where that takes me. chris i remeber talking to you awhile back and you telling me that you tuned a guys car to 400hp with just an s5 turbo. what do you think the bnr stage 4 with a proper tune will yield?

No it wasn't a stock S5 it was an S5 hybrid with a Garrett compressor housing and wheel. The stock turbos are not capable of pushing that type of power.

Do you at least have it installed in the car yet?

Good and bad experiences with a particular EMS generally depend on who did the wiring and who did the tuning. Many times when I see someone complaining about how much an EMS sucks it's:

1. Third or 4th hand information
2. Based on a wiring job that makes me want to vomit
3. Being said by someone who has never seen, let alone tuned, said EMS

Talking

I'm looking at about that much power, and I'm running 850 primaries and 1600 secondaries. As far as I'm concerned if you're driving to the point where your secondaries are actually turning on and going, you shouldn't be worried about fuel economy. More air is easy to add, gas, not as easy.

More gas == less explosions.

I'm a fan of the Haltech, but I have personally seen people use the Microtech setups and they had good experiences with them. From what I have seen though the Haltechs have more to offer and have excellent support.
