Anyone running a Microtech (or any other EMS) with a CDI box? Any issues with timing controls??

Shouldn't be a problem. You can connect the CDI box in place of the stock ignitor.

Thanks for the info Aaron. I'm leaning towards the Crane Cams HI-6 myself. How do you like yours? Does it help with smoothness?

My Crane box has resulted in absolutely zero noticable performance gain, gas mileage gain, or idle quality improvements.

I originally bought it because I had planned to use the boost retard function with my turbo setup, but after adding up the cost of the necessary sensor and boxes for the trailing coils, I decided I would just go Microtech instead and leave it to deal with ignition timing.

It should work fine. I will be running my Crane Cams HI-6 version with my LT8 within a week to 2 weeks (Hint Aaron). Install it like normal, but instead of the trigger wires coming from the harness, they'll come from the LT8.

A little bit of planning should make installation clear, and actually running one won't be a problem.

Chris Ng had significant ignition break up at higher rpm's with his Wolf3d V3. He installed an MSD and the problem was solved. There are a few variables here, like wiring and such but I think he found it improved things dramatically.
