miata center console in FC

Anyone ever tried to fit one of these in an FC? From looking at pictures it seems like it would fit because the Rx7 and Miata are so similar in interior.

Why bother? It's very unlikely it would fit properly.

if you can take a car apart with out breaking something go rent a miata or....
tell a dealer ship you want to take one home before you buy it and "Sleep on it"

or barrow a friends for a day... hehe

note: I do not advocate any of the above options...

a U-pull it Junk yard shouldn't put too big a dent in your wallet...

another option is build you own with MDF, fiber glass and vinal... interior work is not that bad....
just some ideas...

Yeah i've been trying to "improve" on the stock console but nothing looks good... I really like the style of the miata console and could most likely make it fit... but i dont know anyone that has one and i doubt i'll find one in a junkyard around here.

Heres the miata console:

As you can see its basicly the same as an Rx7 console other than the shift trim is attached... if you could mabey remove the shift trim from it and make it fit by some minor fiberglassing... or the shift trim could possibly fit to... who knows??

But why are you curious? What's so special about a Miata center console that you'd want to go to all the trouble to fit one despite that fact that it would probably never look right? Just looking for the upsides here...

is his choice, if he likes it, who gives a ****. maybe he's on a budget, maybe he will have access to an inexpensive or even free miata center console. ya it looks a little less quality than a stock rx7 console.

i personally would like to see what it would look like if it was fitted to an FC! kinda refresing to see i think.

that's my 2 cents.

p.s. if anyone thought i was directing this to them personally, don't trip, i was speaking in a general manner.

Customization, trying something, making his car different from what everyone else has. Something OTHER than following the cookie cutter examples people so love to set out. There are a ton of good reasons.

Whatever floats your boat, but I'll stick to making improvements as opposed to pointless hack jobs...

(I call it a hack job because you know as well as I do that it'll never look good.)

well i havedriven several miata's and i'll tell you that the armrest part will be sitting on the floor in an FC...The miata seats are really low and the armrest is flat...it is not a good idea....

BTW...don't post an question about an idea unless you are looking to get ridiculed and shot down...go for it if you want...post pics and then shove it in everyones faces when it looks like a million bucks...But i'm voting on the side of the nay-sayers, waste of time....
