MDrace 'miracle' chip

Mdrace has a chip that claims to do the following:
Increase of 25+ horsepower;
Increase of 25% in torque;
Increase of 5 mpg more fuel economy;
Increase in rev. limiter:
For 1986-1988, rev. limiter is increased from 7600 to 9000 rpms;
For 1989-1991, rev limiter is increased from 8600 to 9100 rpms;
Increase in acceleration for additional bottom-end performance
do any of you have any experience with this chip? it costs $295 i hear.. but that would be well worth it if it lives up to its claims. it also works as an FCD. i can beleive that and the rev limiter thing, but does it really add all that HP and better gas milage?
if it increases my mpg by 5, then it'll pay for itself in like a month!!

Yeah whatever, maybe UP TO 25% and UP TO 5mpg, but i doubt you will see that much of an increase. Maybe on a turbo car, but that would only be because of alot more boost is being allowed, not because the computer is so great. The mazda computer only has so much "leeway" in which a chip can affect the ignition and fuel. Usually when someone gets a chip like what you are describing it just screws up their car. I wouldnt do it, just my opinion. I have a ported 89 turbo motor with a wolf 3d on it. That is infinitely adjustable and i do have a "setting" for more fuel mileage, but its not some maricle or anything. I get 21.5 on the highway, around 14 around town just driving normal. Just remember, it takes fuel to make horsepower. You can either have fuel efficiency or power at a given rpm, not both. Do you think SR Motorsports rx7 gets great mileage because it has so many upgrades? No way, its fast as hell and sucks down fuel. Anyways, to sum it up, id stay away from that chip, never even heard of that company. Just my 2 cents..

The company has been around a long time.
Getting the chip from them is the problem.

I have a friend who did it and he said you could tell the difference puylling your car out of the driveway.
He also said it was the best money he had ever spent on his TII.

Here is a writeup on it.

I bought one a few months ago, but sold it before I ever got to use it. I went Haltech.

I also wanted to add. Superchips supposedly bought their rights, so you can get the same thing through them.

I have heard plenty of people who bought the chip and said they definatly felt a difference. I think one was dynod at 13hp at the wheels . He had mods and was probly in need of fuel correction anyways. Either way I think its a great deal. Definatly safer and cheaper than jacking up your timing and installing a S-AFC wich could probly get the same results.

You obviously didn't read the threads I posted either.
It's annoying enough when people can't do a search, but cripes, at least read the threads posted for MORE INFORMATION if you don't have any real experience of your own to share.

I know someone who installed that same exact chip and then dynoed the car and got 9whp and 4lbs/ft. tq increase, for 350 bucks that sounds like a deal to me. I am going to order one after I pay for this header.
