mazdaspeed grounding kit
mazdaspeed grounding kit
I just recieved my mazdaspeed grounding kit for my 89 gtu, but it didn't come with instructions. Does anyone know where each point is supposed to be connected to? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

You don't really need fancy grounding kits. Just fix your existing grounds and save some money.
Pull your grounds off, clean the cable ends and holes thoroughly (run a tap through the threads). Replace the cable ends if necessary by either crimping (use plenty of dielectric grease) or by soldering (best) and then wrapping with heat shrink. Use new stainless bolts to secure the ground, and cover everything in dielectric grease.

well he might as well already put it on since he got it..lmao..running another of grounds isnt exactly spending alot of money and it could never hurt.. if u just go spend 20 bucks on speaker wire and some ring terminals..but yea aarons advise would also work just fine
I did pretty much what aaron said and just fixed my stock grounds but then went 1 step further and piggybacked all the grounds with marine wire and connected all the stock ground locations to a central grounding location that is also tied into the battery. However this setup took some time with routing the cables and just making them in general. plus cost me a buttload and didn't even fix my problem. i guess my grounds were already good enough. hope that helps.

The same applies to the new grounding kit. Clean all the threads, use stainless bolts, and dielectric grease on EVERYTHING. Dielectric grease is the most important part and will assure long term reliability. Since you have to clean every grounding point down to bare metal, corrosion will occurr very quickly without the grease.

Is there a schematic on this forum somewhere that shows all the ground locations? I know there's about five of them... I've read up on it some. It would be nice, however, to have a schematic with pictures in hand when I go trying to find them.
Just a thought.
