They are done in a plant near Orange Park FL.
I have heard they are generally real good, but sometimes a bad one gets out, so keep your warranty paperwork.
That warranty is worth the extra cost.

I don't know how it works in the US, but that Mazda reman that is going into my car (Canada) only comes with 1 year/25,000km.

Pineapple and Atkins offer that and better for their engines. FC3S.org offers 1 year on their engines and they claim to only use brand new housings, where as the Mazda (MNAO) rebuilds mix and match, no gaurantee on the housing!

Hmmm, if I were in the US and it was up to me I would at least check the other guys out...

I understand that Mazda remans are built In Mexico, than later shipped back to Mazda. Cheapsy labour.

Maybe this was applied to Mazda Canada. I was told this by a Rotary Shop up here.

I would really like to find out the truth about this. Do they have mazda factories in Mexico? How can they train techs in Mexico and not in the US? (no offense to anybody).

I think of it this way, how quicly does Mazda handle a warranty claim in comparison to Atkins or FC3S? I don't remember either of them having a network of garages ready to pluck your engine and slap in another at a moment's notice.
