Mazda Reman. Engine

I am swapping out my s4 N/A for a s4 13bt and rebuilding it. And not to long ago I found out the n/a engine is a mazda reman. engine. The car had 198,000 miles so i'm guessing it doesn't have that many miles on the engine. So I thought maybe I could reuse the some of the internals and put them into my 13bt. Well today I started taking the n/a apart and found fd corner springs!!! Did mazda do that to all reman. engines?

It may have been a reman that was purchased and pulled apart. Remans have uneven quality.
