Spent some time a the dealer here in Japan to get some hard to find FC OEM parts. With these cars getting 20+ years old the dealer has less and less stock and some parts will no longer stocked.

Sweet, maybe I'll be able to sell mine for an obscene mount soon .

But really, it sucks that our cars are starting to reach the end of their 'fun, cheap, available car' life cycle. Pretty soon they'll be hitting collector status and prices for everything will skyrocket as availability plummets. .

The Infini ones are Mazda OEM for Japan only. They only where stock on the Infini cars, but soon alot of people wanted them and Mazda sold them an add on option.

I'm not sure if the US Dealer stock the duck bill anymore or not. These parts I listed above are only Mazda Japan stock. I hope that means that FD's will start dropping in price. In Japan you can pick up a nice FD for 2500 ~ 4000

 

Now if mazda japan would send some of those parts to the us dealers, they could make some money.....

Even if Mazda did ship them to the states, I don't know if anyone in the states would to buy Infini seats from the dealer.

Need to know how to tell the difference in Infini Version II and III seat vs Version IV seat

there are 4 versions of the Infini FC3S car. Each had little difference in the seats.
The version II and III cars are in a fixed upright potions. You can only adjust the front back by sliding the seat.

The version 4 seats the Drivers seat you can adjust the angel of the back rest. but not very much only about 10 deg.

i had the last one in my hands in the 90's... any FC seat was long dead in 2001 (seat covers were even spotty)....

don't forget if the part is at the dealer we're too cheap to buy it, no matter what it costs.

 

I'd like to get some knee pads made to fit USDM cars, and a footbar too while wer're at it (I know someone has already made their own footbar, and I don't even think its branded to begin w/ )

 

I guess this isn't all that surprising. Luckily, even though progress on my restoration has completely stalled out, I have most of the OEM parts I need to be happy. While it's sad that parts are going to become harder to source, I'm honestly looking forward to the day when these become more of a reasonably priced collector car instead of just cheap cool transportation.

 

I had no idea any car manufacturer made knee pads like those. I want them for every car I drive.
