Mazda FC3S RX-7 180km/h Speed Limit Cut SLD FREE RX7

This is a little trick used here in Japan for those with the Second Generation RX-7 whose OEM setup will not allow speeds over 180km/h. The standard way to get beyond this is to by a SLD by HKS, etc or through a ECU tune. Luckily, this is not necessary. With the removal of one screw on the back of your gauge cluster you have a free speed limit cut. This screw will be on the left hand top side when looking at the back of your gauge cluster. Above this screw is the inscribed marking `20000M 180K`.

all the info i got it from here

i have a couple gauge cluster lay in my room, so i checked.
only s5 have have this screw both us and jdm verson
s4 didn't have this screw at all
just another penny

I've had my car over 180km/h at the track many times, not an issue for us in North America.

I had this problem a few years ago on my Infini when I took it to the dyno.
