Yay, our cars are now just going to get even more expensive to work on.

Thanks Mazda!

Yea, I just called Mazda Corporate and they said yea that gasket set is NLA.

The guy said I can "probably" buy them 1 by one ... Im going to try to hunt them down one by one see if them are still in stock.

Also, what is the difference between 91 and 92 model engine gasket set? Its still NLA but the description just said 92' Asbestos . Well I know what Asbestos is but other than that, isn't the same **** ?

buy the O-ring set. then you buy intake/exhaust gaskets as needed. front cover too.

its actually better, as the NA and T2 use the same o ring set, and you can mix/match the rest.

the factory prices are too steep anyways, just get the generic nippon set from atkins for a fraction of the cost.

I found every single part in the picture EXCEPT

4, 16 --- 4 and 16 came from BAC valve, but I can't find it for some reason. I

20, and 21. Anybody know what they're ?????

all other parts are still available from Mazda. The price is more than buying everything as a set. but still not so bad.

Speaking of Atkins, it might be a better idea to get the Kit C than Master kit right ?

don't get any kit, just call them and ask for their generic seal kit. master kits all come with some other hard parts that you probably don't really need unless parts are worn or out of spec.

#4 is for the sub zero starting system which should just be omitted anyways, you can plug the holes behind the actuator with silicone. #21 is tension bolt seals. i don't know what #20 is but i have to assume it is the oil galley o-ring for the front cover, it is just pictured on the wrong side of the engine.

Since I dunno the history of the car much (Im the 5th or 6th owner). so if Im gonna get the kit I will get the whole master kit or just buy them parts by parts from Mazda. The engine is still in car , and Im not so sure about its condition, it emits a huge cloud of smoke at start up for at least 2 minutes or so (until its warm up). it has a smell of coolant WITH oil. that tells me some seals inside is bad. I only get that cloud of smoke if I dont drive it for say, a week or so. but I think its better to fix it first before it will cause any catastrophic damage.

Im in the MMS program so parts are not that expensive (except for some rip offs like 12 inch of fuel hose for 40 bux)

I dont think I have that system. guess I will skip that.

#21 is tension bolt seals.
Ahhh ! I never thought of that ! Thx !

Should I re-use Tension bolts? Its pretty f-ing expensive but maybe I should buy new ones ?

i don't know what #20 is but i have to assume it is the oil galley o-ring for the front cover, it is just pictured on the wrong side of the engine.
I think so. Im gonna keep checking.

yeah some

but 2-3 minutes of smoke does not sound normal to me. it might have something to do with the glutted Pre-Cat. but 2-3 mins of smoke ? with coolant & oil smell ? T_T

also the engine feels like it has some oil-blown by issue (the previous owner mentioned it too) so ...

I mean it still works right now, but I am thinking it might be a good time now to take it apart, at least I can re-use some of the parts before something fails and eat the whole engine alive. what ya think ?

if it isn't eating oil at an astronomical rate or eating coolant and buzzing at you at least once a week then absolutely not, no, 3 minutes of some light oil smoke isn't abnormal. if it's like a smokescreen then yes, if you can see through it and it lightens up for the rest of the 3 minutes, no, not a problem.

the smoke lightens up after 3 minutes.

but before then, the smoke is really thick that some ppl on the block thought that my car was on fire !

Its not eating oil much but its eating coolant slowly for sure.

so ...
