Mazda Dealer rotary retraining?..

Now that the RX-8 is coming, has anyone heard of Mazda training their mechanics on the rotary engine?,it seems like most Mazda mechanics don't have much rotary training.

Grrrrrrrrrr...their TECHNICIANS, mechanic is a dirty "general" word. But anyway I'm sure they'll have to have some training instead of what happened before when they had "ignorant" people working on them, they won't make that mistake again.

They probally wont be doing any more training. All there going to have to do is plug the car in and find the prolbem on the computer screen. Dealers are not allowed to open an engine up. All there allowed to do is replace a blown engine with a new engine.

My bad..Technician. I've had bad experiences in the past with them. They just don't seem to know how to figure out problems. Their solution is almost always to buy something new instead of attempting to figure it out and repair it.

Dealerships can and do open up engines. I work at one, and I have seen them pull off heads more times than I care to remember. Now not being alowed to open a rotary engine would make since.

It may be just the dealers around here im not sure. I know the 2 mazda dealers around here said thats its policy not to be able to open one up. Its also policy at the local Honda dealer. There may be different policies in the different zones maybe?

the us dealers can open the motors up, but ive never seen one do it, because the engines are rebuilt exhange, due to the licencing agreement from nsu.
also as of today they have had no training, on the rx8, they did do training on the new 6, so that means the rx8 is more than 6 weeks away

They send the engines to the reman. plant here in Jax. Not sure if they do the labor here or they are just sent here.

Yes they are being trained on the rotary. I have talked to some of the techs at the local dealership and all the Mazda techs are being sent to Jacksonville and Miami for a 2 day seminar/training paid by Mazda. This 2 day seminar is all they will be getting period from waht I was told. I asked about it because the well known FORD MUSTANG GUY was tearing apart an RX-7 in the garage a month ago when I was having my rims replaced and so I started asking questions.

PS The Courtesy Mazda dealership took me for a ride so don't anyone take their vehicles their or buy from them. Bad service period.

In the event that they don't know how to diagnose a problem then they are mechanics...that's what technicians are for.

It would be ridiculous for Mazda to not train them the second time around...how would that help bring back the rotary besides to get thrashed by those who don't know how to work on it?
