maybe my engine didnt blow..??

im sure it did though....
i finally got a chance to look under the hood with some light saturday and found that one of the pipes running to my intercooler was disconnected...!!...
BUT there appeared to be oil in there.....if it wasnt oil then it was a dirty fluid that looks just like oil....

anyway i posted about my engine popping last wed or thursday if some of you didnt see it.....
i was doing like 75 or 80 on the interstate and i heard a pop and then no power...

im thinking that pop was the intercooler piping....
but if thats the case, why would the area around my turbo be smoking and why would there be oil in my intercooler piping....

does this mean ive blown an oil seal or something , and that cause oil to go places its not meant to go.....like could that be the cause of the smoking area around the turbo???....

or could the turbo have popped and sent oil into there???

as you can tell i have many questions, and anything you guys can answer would be great....

thanks in advance

hmmmmm....
that makes me think, maybe i didnt blow my engine.....or maybe i blew something into the turbo....
would a blown engine turnover...??
i tried to start my car and it would start but would die as soon as it started.....that was before i knew the intercooler pipe blew off....HHMMMMM

A blown engine will run. Mine lost 3 seals and even idled on its own (at like 300rpm, granted). It really sounds like a ic pipe fell off or you have a giant vac leak. DO A COMPRESSION TEST

Will the car run now?(once you got the intercooler piping back together) Does it make any boost? Sounds to me like you have a bad turbo and the blown piping caused the car not to run because of a vacuum leak.

Oil is not going to actually hurt anything, but it probably means your turbo is toast or close to it.

hmm....that sucks.....im going to try to start it when i get home.....if the turbo is gone will the car still run??
i heard that if the turbo goes then the car will not run as it is setup obviously for a turbo....
will i just not get any boost and still be able to run the car??

As my car stands right now, the turbo is blown. I get absolutely no boost, it constatly smokes out the exhaust and on the front and back of the turbo. I am in the process of putting my hybrid on, but need to get another wastegate cover bolt.

Are you sure its smoke? I had a vac line between the turbo and the IC come off, when i revved it, i thought I was seeing smoke, but it was actually compressed air escaping, expanding, cooling off and causing moisture in the air to momentarily condense.

im not sure what i saw....this happend wed night if i remember correctly....
i heard a pop on the interstate and then lost power...the car was still going so i got in the slow lane and limped home....i made it about 4 miles from home when i had to stop and it died...luckily i coasted into a gas station....when i popped the hood the only thing i noticed....(it was dark) was that some smoke like vapor(not alot, but enough to be obvious) was coming from around the turbo area....im not sure if it even was the turbo, but it was from that general area for sure.....no where else did it smoke....

It was probably just condensation. Put it back together and see what happens.

It sounds like you're fine, but there's only one way to fine out.

it takes a lot less than 10 minutes to do a quickie compression test...pull 2 lower plugs and crank...how hard can it be? no use in screwing with everything else until you know the outcome of that...

You flooded it. Do a compression test already.
