maybe low compression...help??

Ok, let me explain whats up. The engine has only 60000 miles on it. My injectors were just completely serviced. But if the car sits for more than about 30 mins it will flood. But if its only 15 mins it will start up fine. Also, if its a long time (ovre 6 hours) it will start up faster than a honda. I drove my friends 7 the other day and for some reason it is WAY faster. Both are stock. Mine doesnt smoke at all, it just passed emissions. Also, it accelerates VERY strong up to about 4k rpms, then keeps going, just kinda slow. I dont think its the 6 ports tho, i checked to make sure they were opening. Its very strong, can chirp into second, do a solid burnout halfway through second gear. But loses power up top, and not as quick as another same 7. Anyone got any ideas? Your help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Only way to know for sure if its compression or not is to just test it. Its so easy, there's no reason not to.

Does it sound like low compression to you though?

Test it and tell us. It could be a million things. Compresstion testers are super-cheap.

sounds like it could be low compression. thats what was happening in my 1st gen. you really need to test it to find out though.

Well, I got it tested (just using a standard tester though) and readings came up 96 on both rotors. So those arent too bad. My car is weird. I woke up and drove all the way to work this morning, ran perfect. Drove about halfway home from work and all of a sudden idle dropped real low, engine sounded different, and I had noooo power. Almost all the way home though, it just started running good again. It just does this on and off. But if you are just looking at this thread read my first post to know what the problem is. thanks

Maybe it's the gas you're using. When I get gas from different stations, they perform different. I try to get Mobil most of the time, because if I don't, my engine can act different from how it usually does with other brands of gas. With Mobil my engine's fine. With other gas my engine usually acts up; anywhere from a different tone, to slight, but noticeable, loss in power

Ok, now it wont run good at all. Engine sounds really bad, sounds like I have an exhaust leak somewhere, or maybe vacuum, but I cant find any leaks. I have nooo power, 6 ports dont open, wont go much about 5k rpms. But like I said, just got it tested and got 96 on both rotors. WTF?

another idea is you could check for spark on the leading and trailing coils. My car ran like crap when the leading plugs werent firing.

Alright Ill check the spark and Im also gonna check the fuel. Does anyone think it might have to do with the exhaust leak?

update...ok this is weird..took the 7 out today and it ran perfectly fine...good power, idled fine...still sounds like an exhaust leak though, maybe from the manifold. Whats the problem, it runs perfect, then like crap, then perfect...I dont get it.

sounds like when it heats up, it starts running flat has no power. It could be a vacumm leak.. I think your compression #s should be higher considering it is a 6 port motor. you got me??????????? sorry

for the compressoin test did you hold in the release pin to look for 3 separate spikes during the test? If not its just reading the highest compression number. When I looked up this a while ago (had same scare with my car), it seemed that it was more important that you have compression and the spikes were equal on both rotors, this is if your testing with a cheap compression tester though
