Hello club
I wanted to share that i used to fill up 3 times a week $120 value a week ($500/months)
And just recently after owning it for over a year I set my idle at 900 (originally 1500)
The first fill up is at half tank and its almost been a week.
So fail
Just wanted to share

Garagelife ftw

My takeaway from your story is that internal combustion engines use more fuel the higher the RPMs.
Who knew?

Cool.
Yep, and that's why I drive a Ford around as a DD... although Fuel efficiency wasn't that good in 1974 either...

Misterstyx69 >> sounds like he's probably filling up at around 11gal. [$3.63/gal]

Also, kinda surprising that the idle would waste *that much* gas...

It does...I was a mechanic starting out in the late 60's and one thing every tune up class I took hammered in to you was how important it was to set the idle speed to specs, which was usually as low and smooth as it would go.

why in the world would the idle be at 1500(OP)? unless some prob. was causing it,that would be annoying as hell to me,not to mention the wasted fuel
