mass airflow sensor s5 on a s4?
im sure this has been asked before but the search wont let me do a serach for "s4" or "s5". but i was wondering whats your guys opinion on the differences between the s4 meter and the s5. i currently have a 87 s4 n/a. but i heard the s5 plunger style is a little smoother. and if you think they're better, can i directly plug one into my wiring harness? any opions are appreciated. thanks a lot guys.

Doesn't matter really...there are obvious functional differences, and rumor has it the Kouki AFM is better flowing, but I doubt you would feel any real-world differences.  Anyone got hard data to say otherwise?

no you can't just take out an s4 afm and plug in an s5 afm and have it work...to make it work:
1- you'll have to hard wire the s5 afm to the 87 harness
or
2- get an s5 afm plug connector and splice the wires in
that's how i got it to work on my 87 t2...but like ted stated, there's really no difference in performance, just easier when doing the intake mod.
