Question mass airflow sensor s5 on a s4?

im sure this has been asked before but the search wont let me do a serach for "s4" or "s5". but i was wondering whats your guys opinion on the differences between the s4 meter and the s5. i currently have a 87 s4 n/a. but i heard the s5 plunger style is a little smoother. and if you think they're better, can i directly plug one into my wiring harness? any opions are appreciated. thanks a lot guys.

87 n/a transplant into a 87 b2200. it runs!! i finally got to drive it!!

Doesn't matter really...there are obvious functional differences, and rumor has it the Kouki AFM is better flowing, but I doubt you would feel any real-world differences.&nbsp Anyone got hard data to say otherwise?

no you can't just take out an s4 afm and plug in an s5 afm and have it work...to make it work:
1- you'll have to hard wire the s5 afm to the 87 harness
or
2- get an s5 afm plug connector and splice the wires in
that's how i got it to work on my 87 t2...but like ted stated, there's really no difference in performance, just easier when doing the intake mod.
