Mass Air Flow

Dose any one know of a Mass Air Flow that has a better air flow then the stock S5 that i can install for a power gain or do i have to go with a new PCM.

I think you'd probably have to go with a standalone system to replace the MAF with a much more efficiently designed meter.

and by using a standalone you would remove the maf all together.

well i know if i go with a stand alone but i dont want to do that just yet so i was trying to c if i can just incress the air flow

No, spend your money elsewhere. The AFM is not actually all that much of a restriction. If you want a real upgrade, move up to a standalone EMS.

No, the Rtec products all currently require the AFM and stock computer system. In fact, that is the big advantage of the Rtek chips... you don't need to rewire the car or buy any expensive sensors.

Yeah, I run an Rtek 1.7 (w/ 720cc secondaries) on my '87 TII. It makes it very easy, and with supporting mods like a ported wastegate and performance fuel pump I should be able to crank the boost to 9-10psi quite safely.

Eventually when I upgrade my turbocharger though I'll definitely go standalone. I'll probably have to buy a beater commuter car so I can work on the '7 though... crap.
