Manual Steering, yes I know, I did!

just got a coupla questions with the manual steering rack is it easier to turn the wheel compared to a p/s minus the belt? it broke off and I was driving around without one and I like it much better, very easy to dift, plus one less this to take power. Do you still get a workout out in parking lots? I have a bad back and that was not cutting for me so if the manual steering any easier than a p/s with out the belt?

When you have the P/S without the belt, you have to move the fluid through the rack and pump when you turn the wheel. A manual rack doesn't make it "easy" to steer, but it wouldn't be as tough as not having the belt.
