Where can I send my lower intake manifold to get ported (gasket matched?)to match the motor. What kind of bit would I neeed to do it myself?

 

Don't know where you can send it besides a hot rod shop or performance shop. There's nothing really hard about gasket matching the manifolds...

You can easily do it with a Dremel tool and a number of rotary bits. I prefer rotary files as they love to eat aluminium. Then finish off with a sanding disk to get a smooth transition.

Before I do this, is it worth doing? What kind of gains should I expect? Doesnt bigger ports mean less low end? Anyone done this on a S5 na? any info is appreciated

 

You might get differing opinions on this, mine is that you should keep from making the port sizes much larger than they are now, you can lose a certain amount of velocity from making the ports larger. You can have noticeable improvement by smoothing out casting flash (ridges) and gasket-matching the port openings.

 

It's not worth doing unless you already have the manifolds removed and are very bored.
