Making spot for gauge in vent, anyone have pics?
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of a gauge mounted in the driver side vent. Things are getting down to the wire for me, and im going to be doing alot of assembling real soon.
Also, if you have done this mod, please feel free to share your thoughts/tips on it.

Seems like you should be able to do it pretty easy. I would say cut a piece of lexan to fit the vent hole and mount the gauge in that.
I've made an under stereo panel and a cup holder in the center console out of lexan. It's easy to work with, and cheap for the small 8X10" pieces.

Its either that, or spend $130 on a custom pod.

just cut a piece of aluminum to fit the vent shape and properly size a hole for the gauge. You can either make a small bracket and find someplace to mount back there or simply hot-glue the rear of the gauge to the aluminum and make sure that hole is a nice tight fit. Then paint the aluminum flat black and it should look like it was meant to be there. I did this on my GVR4 for my EGT gauge and it looks perfect!! The only problem w/ the FC is running wires through the door which isn't hard just a more trouble. The hot glue might sound cheesy but it WORKS and can be totally removed later on if you decide to swith gauge positions or get new gauges.
