I'm painting Black for sure. I'll suffer any consequences later. The guy painting it will go over everything before we go through with it

If I were looking for a Black Rex, and I had a stock black or change of color black, what would you choose?
If you had to choose from a change of color black to a stock red with fresh "polish it so it looks 12 inches deep" darker/richer red, which would you choice again?
I had a 64 1/2 Mustang that I did a color change, and I regretted it ever since. The ONLY exception is if you totally stripped it down and painted it inside and out. But, you'd make any fat wallet alot thinner from the expense of all that.
Stay with red, ANY color red, so long as it's red. When you get it back with the fresh paint, you'll love it.

Paint it black. Yes if you try to sell your car most will think it was in an accident or etc. because it was painted. However, who cares. Maybe if you had a 10-20 thousand dollar car changing the colour would be bad. You bought your car for 3 grand and if later you want to sell it it is not like you will lose much money. Also, I believe red paint is more expensive.
I say you should fix the rest of your car before you paint it. It is pretty sad when my almost stock 1st gen will always beat you, when you should easily pull away from me. Or maybe it is just the driver.

That's my friend form across the street that I grew up with(whofarzed). Sadly, I must admit his car keeps up with me but hasn't beaten me. He's getting his header soon, so I better fix my hesitation and get those ports of mine opening properly before he gets it on or else he's gonna beat me.
As far as paint, I really don't care about the engine bay, mostly the doors and the rockers. Plus before I paint it I am putting power windows by chaning the entire doors from a GXL. So I'll drive around a few days with gold doors. That's is gonna look funny.

WOW, that is the ****!!
That is one sweet looking car. Don't like the single exhaust though. White rims aren't anything I've considered that make it look good too.
Wish my car had the round lights, really like those.
Not even one imperfection on that passenger side and you could probobly use it as a mirror.
I've got some dark tint on my hatch, what are your opinions of placing tint on our vehicles? I have it more for security reasons for my stereo.

Glad to see your going to go with BLACK! I think TIIs look best in black, just because of the aggressive styling the car has...bulging hood scoop, flared out fenders definitely a mean looking ride. And nothing says BADASS better then BLACK, its an intimidating color. Like everyone said, its a high maintenance color. YOU GOTTA wash it by hand and really carefully all the time! No taking the car through automatic car washes that use those brushes full of other peoples crap, its going to scratch your car so bad, it looked like someone power polished it with a steel wool pad! If you like taking care of your car's appearance then go with black, if not, if you hate washing it and don't wanna deal with seing scratches that easily, perhaps consider the color my buddy chose, 2001 S2000 Silverstone Metallic...hides scratches real well:
I had my '87 N/A painted Brave Blue Mica compated to the crappy metallic blue that came stock, it looked beautiful. I got many complements on it from other RX7 drivers. Also no cop ever looked twice at my car, it seemed to blend with the road haha. I wish i could get my '91 the same color but its red. What do you guys think that deep ferrari red would look?
