I have an s4 GXL, and i was really wondering what i could do to make it faster. I already know to put on exhaust, and an intake, but what else?

USE THE SEARCH. Search for "How to make a beefy n/a" Probably just make beefy n/a would work.

SAFC is a Super Air Flow Converter. It modifies the signal that the ECU sees from the AFM, in order to allow the user some tuning ability.

Tear apart the motor and port it, throw a light weight flywheel, underdrive pulley, ported intake, 4.30 rearend, S-AFC, good tires, and most of all a good driver.

There's a lot of things you can do. Those are just the things off the top of my head.

Loose weight, Stop eating cheeseburgers !!!
Get rid of some of the extra junk thats not needed, There are plenty of great threads on everything but you have to search to find it. Spend a week or 2 and read up on all the great features your 7 has before you tear into anything please.

Hello "The Unsent". This is Chimp. You came to my house once. I'm the guy w/ the beat up 87 N/A that's friends w/ slow87turbo (EJ). What I would do to get rid of some of the parasitic drain on the engine would be to get rid of the power steering, A/C, etc... This free's up horsepower.

What some people do including nillachaz (Zach) is to remove the 5th and 6th port sleeves. This eliminates the need for an air pump (unless you are emissons friendly) and the ACV bullshit. This trades a little low end power for a noticible amount of top end power.
While slow87turbo, nillachaz and I all believe you already have aftermarket exhaust from the "cat" back, you may still gain a substantial amount of power from substituting the cat(s) for a straight through "test pipe". Once again, not unless you are emissons friendly.

The other exhaust modification you could consider is headers. There is also the more extreme option of true dual exhaust (which I REALLY want) which of course will give you more power than any other cat back or test pipe system (rotary's LOVE to breathe).

There's also less expensive, less sacrificial horsepower such as intakes. Slow87turbo has just installed his custom cold/ram air on his car (the black TII). You can ask him how he likes that the next time you talk to him.

I can't think of anything else that doesn't require some serious work right off the top of my head. It is late though so I'm not really at the top of my game and could be neglecting to mention something stupidly obvious. If you have any other questions whether you think they sound stupid or not, feel free to PM me. I have a factory shop manual for our cars so I can help you pretty well when it comes to how a certain part works and how you may be able to remove it or make it work better.

I WOULD UMM.... USE THE SEARCH ENGINE TO MAKE MY N/A FASTER... sell sperm and get true duals from mazdatrix ( 1500 ). after that get a pulley set for 289.00 from rotaryressurection.com, get a HKS grounding Kit, a pulsation damper ( ahahahaha ) new belts, your engine should be eating coolant soon so get ready for a rebuild soon. after you spend money on teh rebuild ill tell more stuff lol... im just playing man.. but before you start investing i recommend a rebuild

There is an entire thread dedicated to just this. Go back to the Gen 2 Page, and at the very top, click "Archive". There are only two pages, so it won't be hard to find.

header, straight pipe, single exhaust, and gut the interior. Loose all the weight you can. also drop the door sills out and cut out the supports. the doors are heavy.

well, i did the search thing, and basically, i've learned to lose weight, get catback exhaust, and an intake system, but is there anything else? I was told so far to get an electric fan (its just nicer), pully system and a straight pipe for the exhaust and get rid of my cats. I'd say thats good for a while. I wont post anything else like this until i do all that and am stuck once again.
