main drive pulley will not come off engine!

I have my engine pulled right now and I'm trying to get the main pulley off of the eccentric shaft so I can get the water pump off, but the bastard won't budge. First of all, to loosen the pulley, do I turn the center bolt to the left or the right? Second, is there a trick to getting them off...impact wrench, special tools?

thanks

I did it by using a 20" breakerbar and supporting it up against the frame of the car. Then I turned the key and I thought my engine was going to fly out, but it did the job. Theres a hell of a lot of locktight on there.

Try a torch. Impact wrench should help. Maybe the flywheel locking tool from mazdatrix will help you too.
