MAF sensor VS cold air intake

i took the stock air box out of my 88 vert today, and noticed that the air flow meter's intake port isnt nearly as big as the rest of the intake ducting. Is there another type of AFM i can put in it to increase the intake air? i was looking into building a cold air box for the car, but im sure it wont reach its potential with that restrictive AFM "barn door" sensor in there. gururacing.net sells a kit for porsches that corrects this problem with them, is there one out there for us?

you will have to buy a standalone to get rid of it.
If you have an N/A you shouldn't worry about it. The engine doesn't require enough air to need a new AFM.
