MAF sensor

Is there a less restrictive system for mass air flow sensing? The one on my 87' N/A is not very efficient. Could I adapt one from some other mazda? How hard is reprograming the fuel map? Is it a hardwired system or a programmable one?

if your anything short of a genius i think its impossible. the haltech is the only way to get rid of the afm. well at least according to this forum. a series 5/6 is different so like i said you better be an electrical genius if you try.

to bad the haltech costs 1,400

Use the available $600 dollar kit and change over to mustang-style Pro-M mass air meter.
Worth it? GOD NO!

no way to make a series 5 work on a series. The best way to eliminate it completely is to install a stand alone ecu (haltech, pro-efi, etc.)
