It is not plug and go. You can make it work, but it is not worth the trouble. Basically, your biggest problems are what to do about the fuel cut safety feature, and how to modify the signal to keep the car in tune (piggyback fuel computer would work). All of that work for no gain = waste of time. If you just happen to have an S5 AFM, I am sure you could trade it to somebody for an S4 AFM.
BTW, the part is usually called an AFM (Air Flow Meter) on this forum and in the factory service manual.
