MAF NA vs Turbo (s4)

are they the same?

I've got a bone stock '88 10AE that seems to be disgusting on fuel and I can't figure out why. (like 110 miles per tank)

I'm wondering if it has an n/a maf or something.. it always smells really rich and it has a newer O2 sensor and etc.

if i remeber right an na is leaner and a t2 is richer

The Turbo AFM has a stiffer spring to allow it to meter higher airflows, so an NA AFM will cause richer mixtures if it's connected to a Turbo ECU.

I have put a T2 afm on my n/a engine years ago, I can't remember if it was the AFM or something else but I think the engine idled a little rough due to the leaner mixture.

You may be able to afford a FSM, computer, and/or professional auto maintenance if you would apply yourself. Blaming others for your failures may make you feel better temporarily, but it will not change your situation. Failures aren't so bad if you learn from them.
