LSD question(yes I searched)

Alrighty I have a base model 88. Now what i was wondering is, do I have to do a conversion to my rear end(gtu or tII swap) so I can install a cusco lsd or can i just get a cusco lsd and bolt it in. I know my car doesnt have a lsd stock and thats why im asking. I would like to get a lsd soon and I was wondering what all it would take in order to get it installed.

well you will still need to use the stock 7" gear and pinion from the FC diff (and of course set the pre-load), but yes the Miata uses the same 7" diff internals.

WOW never knew that, up to what year miata will work? I'm guessing 90-99?
