LSD Question
Im just wondering if its possible to bolt in a LSD pumpkin in my 88 base model and have the half shafts fit.
OR do i HAVE to swap to 5 lug. I think a 4 lug LSD would be kinda cool. trip people out thats for sure.

I have done that LSD swap on my car with the four lugs. It worked fine. Take the pumpkin out and put the LSD pumpkin in. Sounds easier than it is. It's a no brain operation but a pain in the ***. Eventually I did convert to five lug.
I hardly believe that the four lug weighs more than the five lug. It's probably close to being the same. The five lug front calipers were heavier, and then there's those four extra lugs too. The 5 lug disks are bigger too. Anyways, the weight is not noticeable, but the extra stopping power is. Then there's vaster options in rims, spacers and aftermarket brake rotors that can be had when you have the five lugs.
Any questions, just ask.
Good luck,
Rob

I was already thinking about the 5 lug conversion but i wanted to make sure that i could do the build up in stages. i feel that a LSD with a stock engine is more important than 5 lug. granted its next on the list of things to do.
thx for the heads up. Im looking foward to the added traction.
