lsd in 87 gx???

lsd in 87 gx???

im not sure what this means but
the other day i decided that i would dump the clutch
i know its bad but i had to do it once
and on examination of the skid marks there was one for each tire
does this mean i have the lsd or not. i wouldnt know

its an 87 gx

Not always, you need to put one tire on cement/etc and the other on gravel/grass and then dump it, if both tires spin you have a LSD, if not, then it's open.

there were lsd's in the 87 gxl, whether it still works or not, that's a diff. story

The 87 GX (or 87 Luxury coupe in the USA) didn't come with a LSD from the factory.

oh... i thought the s4 gxl's came with the lsd...?

edit: is a gx different from the gxl?

Yep, the GX is the same as the Luxury coupe in the USA, while th GXL is the next model up in the line up.

is there an acronym name type of deal for the luxury coupe in the us? or is it just gx? b/c i've yet to see a gx

Many people confuse the Luxury coupe with the base model, since the Luxury coupe came with 4 lug wheels, but the alloy wheels were standard as were power mirrors (which the base did not have standard on either). If you look at the sticky thread at the top of this section, (what came with what) it will show you the Luxury coupe in 86 and 87.

The Mazda US marketing decided that the GX (as named everywhere else in the world) would be called the Luxury Package in the USA for 86 and 87, much like the 86-87 Sport in the USA was called the GS everywhere else.
