lsd

hi
ive got an 87 base model.
and i was planning on getting lsd for my car soon.
someone told me itd be a good idea to just look around
for a stock lsd off a GTU or GXL or something.
i was wondering how much would that probably cost?
or would it be better for me to just get an aftermarket one,
if so which aftermarket brands are good.

thanks

you can go to a junk jard and get the complete diferential from a 86-88 gxl. I got a 91 and it dosent have a lsd . look for a tag on the diff fill plug that sais lsd fluid only. I got a diff once and turns out it din't have a lsd in it so be sure to open the diff and look for a lsd. search for a pick of a lsd just in case. Good luck.

Some may not have the tag, either way. Another way to check is to turn a rear wheel. If the wheel on the other side turns in the SAME direction, you've got LSD.

Make sure none of the calipers are sticking though, to get the right results.
