soul of the car is what you put into it, you make the car yours and it has a soul you have assigned it

my convertible does not have the same as another, it has its own identity, as did every RX7 I have owned over the course of close to 20 years

besides the fact that labeling a car with a soul is just plain stupid

I did this argument a few months ago.. Don't want to look up the post right now, but to try and summarize what I said before:

Let's say that you have your child, and he's happy and has a few health issues occasionally when he strains himself. He doesn't go and bench press semi trucks or anything, but for his body he's got right muscles and the right heart.
Well, "someone" comes along and says "Wow, your kid is soooooo weakass! You should totally cut out his heart and put in this electric one! He'll have 3 times the strength, no health problems ever ever ever and he'll even have a cooler voice!"

If it's your child you'd probably tell them to screw off, and never even consider such a thing yourself.....

This I can agree on. I am a modifier by heart and leaving something alone isn't easy.

A late entry for the Bulwer-Lytton award (Tortured Analogy division)?

lol, I hope I win

Though it is a rather crud analogy [with a splash of distain for cyborgs?] It does tend to accurately depict my feelings on the subject [I think I was far more eloquent in my previous argument with this analogy]

thejallenator >> You said it! I hate loosing arguments about things I care about. [My cars mean a great deal to me for all the work I've put into them. I'm probably *too* emotionally attached to them..] As you said everyone else seems to hate loosing too. So shutting down these discussions in the future would be cool.

Facts: Rotaries make more power per cubic inch than piston engines do. It's math.. Do it.

One who critizes a rotary obviously knows nothing about one to begin with.

This is the RX7club, there is no V8 section anywhere on this forum.

Opinion: So if you have a V8 RX7.. I think you should Go find another forum.

Thanks,
-Cris

And BTW, i have a V8. It's in my Late Model stock car. It's a 650hp SBF and it's not as much fun as my 250hp 12A RX7 IMO.

LS1 + RX7 = GM (General Mistake)

I do miss having a piston engine but you got to love the rotary, small but packs a big punch!

If your 12A is so much fun, why do you have a V-8 stock car?
In fact, why not race the rotary instead?
