lowering 87

hey im new to rx-7's i just got one. its a 1987 non turbo. and i want to fix it up good. i have added a header and exaust. wut else can i do to make it go faster? and also i wanted to lower it. i am wondering wut springs to use and if i shuold add rims on it first or after i lower it. i picked out 17"s for it. help me out

I would lower your car first, before you choose your rims, that way you have better idea of what offset you can run, so that "fender rub" is not a problem. There are several springs to choose from, e.g. Apex, Intrax, Eibach, etc............. It all depends on how much you want to lower the car, and whether your going for look or performance.
