TX Lower Shift Bushing Problem...plz Help

I was almost done taking off the shift spring I needed for my other tranny when one little prob came up, and the only thing holding me back...a SMALL pin holding the shift rod to the tranny. I need help or any suggestions on getting it out. I tried making a thread with a small screw but that didn't work.

ARRRRRRGGG!!!!

if you have access to a welder, try to weld a nub on the end of it and grab the nub with a pair of vice grips

or drill into the center, going bigger and bigger until the pin starts to spin, then it should be loose enough to try the screw in the middle.
