Lower Compression Means More Boost?

Ok, I am not a fan of the exterior of the S4 TII, but if I can find a black one, swap out the front lip and taillights, and throw on some Vert rims, I would be ok w/ that ANyway, here is my question. Does the S4 engine have lower compression than the S5 motor? Can it handle more boost stock? If you bolt on the kouki turbo to the zenki engine, can one run the same 7.5psi that the turbo runs on the kouki engine, or will I have to run the 5.5psi? Finding a S5 TII is harder than I thought.

Update....Loan money should be here in like 2 months. I "should" have a TII by December

Heh, well I did the Sallie Mae thing, but I am also working with my loan advisor for the rest. I should know how much Sallie Mae is giving me by Friday (hopefully no less than $8k for the year), and the rest will need to come from other misc places that my advisor will help with. Everyone is gettin pissed at me for doing this, but they have to remeber: a student loan is just that...a LOAN. I will have to pay this all back.

Yes, the S4 is 8.5:1, the S5 is 9.0:1. Unless you’re going crazy with boost, this higher CR is better, because it makes the engine more flexible and nicer to drive off boost.
Can it handle more boost stocki?
People seem to argue both ways, but for those of us on modest budgets, the absolute boost capability of the engine isn’t a concern. You’ll need to spend a lot of money on more fuel before this becomes an issue.

Man, stop using those damn Japanese names! And the stock boost levels are 6.6psi and 8.2psi respectively (read the FSM). Without the ECU-controlled boost control solenoid that the S5 has, the S5 turbo will run at the lower boost setting if it’s bolted to an S4. but with upgraded intake and exhaust you’ll be running higher than that anyway, so don’t worry about it. Unless you upgrade the fuel system, you won’t want to increase the boost anyway.
