low rpm stuttering problems!
im getting some hesitation/stuttering at low rpms when i hit the gas, it smoothes out after the rpms go up a little, around 2k or so. tps is set perfectly, i sprayed some starter fluid around my manifolds and vac lines, but no response. plugs are like new, less than 100 miles on them, and the plug wires are new too. need some input asap. theres a plug unhooked going to a small black box that is bolted to my clutch slave cylinder, im not sure what that is.

Don't worry, this is a common problem below 2k rpm in first and second gear. The field service manual addresses this problem thoroughly and, as I remember, it is a matter of adjusting a couple of components on the N/As. Unfortunately I haven't got the information available now. If you do a forum search on engine bucking you should find some help. Try this [URL=https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=154035&highlight=engine +bucking]
There are several discussions there on your problem.

checked/ cleaned grounds? the black "box", as you call it, is the capacitor (FSM calls it a condenser) for the oil pressure sensor circuit, reduces electrical "noise" from the ignition system...your oil pressure gage doin O.K.?

Mine was broke off at the wrap tape, and I had to search for about 45 minutes with a sharp razor cutting that tape to get to the wire. Sitting under there is so much easier when you don't have the tranny up, lol...

ive triple checked the grounds. i lightly sanded the contact surfaces, sprayed this corrosion inhibiter that decreases resistence, and bolted them down tight. im taking off the turbo to check everything and putting a new lim gasket on. also replaced the tps with a spare one i had, which did nothing, and am getting another fuel rail to check the FPR. ill let you know if it works

most corrosion inhibiters are applied AFTER the terminal is grounded- make sure that stuff says it can be applied between the terminal & ground if that's the way you're using it...why did you have to triple check? once should have done it

I have the same problem but my TPS is messed up I tink!
I tightened the screw all the way and it messed up the idle but after driving it around the block the idle fixed itself. My rebuild only has 1200 miles and its idling around 1500rpms, anytime it gets close to the 750 mark it shakes and almost stalls

but the only reason the idle is messing up is because I messed with my TPS. The highest reading I was getting was .777k at WOT when its supposed to be at 1K at idle. I think I might go out and pick up a new TPS

im having a problem just recently with my 88 NA, Starts up and idle's to 3k as it would normaly and it runs fine until it gets to the actual idle speed around 750 then the engine starts to shake and stutter like crazy and my rev guage bounces between 750 and i say around 600-575, it wont die out so i guess im lucky there, it drives fine as long as its going past 750 revs it works perfectly but when it gets down there it always does it, this started happening last week. my first thoughts is that there could be an airleak somewhere. any thoughts? suggestions? i was also thinking that could it be caused by having the belts loose? like around the air compressor persay? i checked the tension and my belts are a bit somewhat loose but i dont have the time to actualy tighten them between school and full time job. so if someone can please give me some recomendations on what i should have it checked out for thnx.
