low compression, gas smell in oil, but runs fine?

ok motor is an s5 n/a

compression is 70/75 front/rear
starts ok
idles fine
drives fine

feels a tad bit low on power
gets 16 mpg with timing dead on
oil smells like gas

sound like stuck side seals or what? motor has about 140k on it and it hasnt sat for any long period of time.

what do we think?

You won't know for sure until you break it down and spec everything.

My oil has always smelled of fuel with 120 psi compression #'s.

My idea would be excessive side iron wear if your oil is really gassy... but it's probably a combination of things at that mileage.

what was the lucus or mmo trick to possibly free them up?
you filled the chambers with oil and rotated it and filled and rotated and filled then let it sit right?

seafoam or water treatment. lucus or mmo trick is only for building compression after a flooded motor. 140k at 70psi is approaching a blown engine.

just sounds like a tired motor to me...
i had same thing cept it was a t2 wiht origional motor with 160K miles had about 75 psi on both rotors...

id get some hot start problems every now and then. and was quite lacking on the low end, but once i got into boost it was pretty quick..

Yeah thats pretty worn out for a na with 140K tho actually.... id try seafoam and stuff try and free up the seals a bit.... but it might of just been abused alot and its worn out early...
