low compression fix?

I was wondering about a fix for lower compression. my buddy has an 88 gxl and it has compression level of 60 and 70 i believe.. is there anything that can be done? the car runs great actually. it Hauls compared to some fc's around our city. It just doesnt like to start when its cold, it just turns over and over and wont fire. We assume this is from the low compression. Is there any kind of engine flush, or the atf trick mabeye?
thanks!

You can try SEAFOAM and some MMO in the motor. I would pour some MMO in the gas tank, about two table spoons in the spark plug holes (rotate the motor by hand slowly to make sure u get all 6 faces) let it sit over night, then start it up and use a vacuum line in the TB to draw the SEAFOAM cleaner into the motor. My FB had low compression now its up to close to 120 on the conventional compression gauge.
