Low brake pedal

1986 NA with t2 brakes. New calipers and pads f/r. New master cylinder. Stainless
brake hoses. The brake pedal is great after 2.5" of free play. It is not air in the system as I bench bled the master, bled the prop. valve, bled all 4 corners 1. with
vacuum pump 2. pumping brake pedal and 3. gravity bleeding.. Removed calipers from spindles, rotated them, lightly tapped on them all to get any air bubbles out and
then bled again (for about the 20th time). The last thing I tried is the adjusting rod on the back of the brake pedal. This car sat for 8 months before I got it, so I do not have a base line from before all the brake mods.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

p.s. The master is a Mazda o.e 3 port unit for non-adjustable suspension.

Thanks

if you take the MC off of the booster you can also adjust the rod from there on the booster itself. this can also be done with everything still on the car, although its a little bit more tricky

That was going to be the next thing I try...Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a spacer at the end of the rod to the master cylinder ?
