Louder car alarm speaker/horn?

Is it possible to upgrade the alarm buzzer? My car just got an attempted break-in last night, didn't wake up however to the alarm. I go outside this morning and finally hear it and am like "what the hell..."

So, it works - but I can't hear it unless I'm close-by. Need an upgrade. Solutions? Ideas?

Get an aftermarket alarm.

A lot of alarm sirens have two wires on the back which you can cut, one of them makes it crazy loud, the other one enables the multi-tone alarm I believe. If you cut both, it makes a helluva racket. Positioning of the alarm can help with the sound level too. Sticking it in your bumper would make it louder as well. Go to a car audio shop and pick up a new siren, sometimes they get worn out and don't make that much noise. Also hooking up your horn to the horn trigger (if its an option of the alarm) helps out with making noise.
