There is a loud squealing noise when my start 7 and although this doesn't happen all the time it does happen quite a bit. It will Whine from about 2-3k or 4k rpms and sometimes jump between those two intervals. I usually just give it a little gas and stops. Also it does this in second gear around the same RPMs....any ideas? I am gettin the point where i need to decide what or where I am going from this point, the last thing I need is to start dumping money into her to find I have a serious problem. Thanks for the help I could probably put a sound clip if needed.

 

is it a loud air leak noise? Like a wistle or is it a metallic grinding squealing noise. I ran into something like that before and ended up being that the Lower Intake Manifold bolts were loose and air was leaking causing this very annoying noise.

 

Tighten all of your belts. See if it goes away.

 

If tightening doesn't work take them all off, and start the car to see if it goes away. When I say start, I mean only a couple of seconds to see if the belts are the culprit. What kind of squealing? A video would help.

 

the car hasnt made the noise since ive been back. I just moved home from the beach I do seem to have a rough idle which Im worried about but she starts clean and idles at about 1500 but then will drop down to about 750 when i start to drive her. The idle will bump from about 1500 to 1000 unless i rev the engine a little I have no idea what it is but at least I can trouble shoot with these belts maybe that will help
