loud continous beep with exterior lights flasing?

hey guys so i just got a free 88 rx7 with a blown motor... anyways, so i charged up the battery and tried starting the motor so to confirm the motor is really blown... anyways a few seconds after i turned the car on, this loud continous beep started going and all the exterior started flashing... what could it be? is it the stock alarm system?

I'm quite sure it's the stock alarm that's making your lights flash. But the horn should be honking as well. Try to actually honk your horn. If it works, then i'm not sure that it's the stock alarm.

As far as the beeping goes, it's probably the coolant or oil level sensor that's beeping at you because, well, your motor is blown.

the beep is inside the car... and i can also honk the horn... so its mostlikely the stock alarm system then? how do i rest it or remove it? is there a write up somewhere?
