Loud beep at startup, backfiring

I am ready to throw this bitch off a cliff

I tried to start my car this morning and when I put the key in the on posision and the starter engages along with a loud continuous beep. It sounds exactly like a horn, but I took out the fuse for my horn so I don't think it's that. I would think it would be the power steering system but I checked the FAQ and it didn't say anything about a continuous beep.

I decided to forget about the beep because as long as I get it started, the key will be in the on position and not start and I won't have to hear it. So I try to start it but all I get is the engine cranking and backfiring with smoke.

Then, right as I was about to leave the car so I could go to this forum and search, my outside passenger door handle broke... like my driver's side door handle. Now I either need to leave my window down or get in through the hatch

Loud buzzer = low oil, or low coolant in the radiator, or over rev (exceedng redline).

Hmmm... It wouldn't be over rev since the car hasn't even started I also noticed that the car would crank but the tach was dead. I'll check the oil and coolant in a minute

I don't know if it makes a difference, but this sort of thing has happened before (but without the continuous beep and the car still started) and it seems to only happen on cold mornings.

Now if it is a true beep (on off on off etc) and your tach is not working, then it could be the power steering computer. The beep will beep in a sequence and with reading the FAQ for FC sticky thread (found at the top of this- the 2nd gen RX-7 Technical section) will tell you what the issue is.

The low oil/low coolant/over-rev would be a continual buzzer.

Checked coolant and oil but neither were low.

Tach came back on line now that it's warmer. I tried to start it but the car would only crank. I tried to unflood it twice but nothing happened. It would just crank and try to start a few times but would only run while the starter was going.
